Do I need to purchase travel insurance?

Adequate travel Insurance is mandatory and is a condition of your contract with us.  You are responsible for ensuring that you have personal travel insurance with protection for the full duration of the tour.

We recommend you confirm there are no exclusion clauses limiting or excluding protection for the type of activities included in your tour.

You should satisfy yourself that the travel insurance you purchase meets your particular requirements and should arrange supplementary insurance if need be.

What does my insurance need to cover?

Your insurance policy must cover:

  • Personal accident and death/repatriation costs

  • All medical and emergency

  • Cancellation - pre and post-departure for all reasons including medical

  • Curtailment and delays

  • Baggage damage, loss or theft

  • All activities on the itinerary

  • Any pre-existing medical conditions (if applicable)

  • Personal Liability (optional but recommended)

If you are travelling within your home country, please confirm before travel that you are covered for emergency medical care should you require it.

Please remember to include any underlying health conditions in your quote, as well as extreme sports coverage if you are planning on skydiving or doing something else adrenaline-fuelled in your free time.

Can I use the policy on my credit card?

Yes, you can use your credit card insurance policy if you are happy it meets all of Experience Co.'s requirements and provides you with adequate coverage.

Just make sure you can be supplied with an emergency contact number and a policy number that we can use in an emergency.

When should I purchase travel insurance?

You should take out travel insurance as soon as you’ve paid for your adventure in full or booked your flights.

Remember that most policies are not active for 24 hours, so you are not always instantly covered.

Do you require proof of travel insurance?

Yes, we do. You will be asked to provide the name of your insurer, your policy number and the emergency contact number via the Onboarding Checklist on your dashboard. This information is mandatory and forms part of your contract with Experience Co.

Anyone unable to provide proof of a policy will be asked to purchase travel insurance before travelling with us.

Does Experience Co. sell travel insurance?

We do not sell travel insurance directly as we want our customers to be free to choose a policy that best suits their requirements.

We can recommend Digit Insurance as a good starting point.
